Abstract

The paper offers reflections on nature and the impact of functional illiteracy, returning illiteracy and implicit early school leaving. Specifically, in relation to the implicit school dropout, we analyze the Investment 1.4: Extraordinary intervention aimed at reducing territorial disparities, which aims to reduce learning gaps and the phenomenon of school dropout within the different territories of the country. The actions of this investment represent a value element as they provide for the enhancement of basic skills for pupils who do not reach the minimum level of skills in Italian, mathematics and English, based on the annual surveys of INVALSI.
