Artificial Intelligence and Democratic Adult Continuing Education: Personalization, pluralism and inclusion
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this contribution is twofold: to analyze the meaning of concepts such as personalization, pluralism and democracy; and to elaborate a framework of democratic adult continuing education with artificial intelligence (AI). The analysis of the concepts became necessary in light of the often hybrid, and sometimes conflicting, meanings attributed to them in relation to AI by the international scientific literature. These concepts, however, if properly interpreted, represent the basis for democratic adult education with AI. After the specification of these concepts, a framework was then drawn up, referring to Basil Bernstein's pedagogical principles. This framework contains the principles of equality, educational approaches, democratic procedures and the participants in these procedures for a design of adult continuing education with AI with a democratic flavor.
