University Tutors and Guidance: Insights from Research for the Development of a Systemic Role.

Abstract
The figure of tutors in the university sphere has become increasingly important, due to the need for systems to promote effective actions to support students*, the trend towards professionalisation that identifies their crucial tasks and the expansion of resources and spheres within which their actions can be enhanced. In recent years, the Education Unit of the Department of Humanities, Social and Cultural Disciplines at the University of Parma has promoted a pedagogical reflection on the figure of university tutors, who have been involved in various ways in the processes of didactic action – both because they are envisaged by law and because they have been implemented and included in the training design as stable system figures – to support, enhance and develop orientation and education. The contribution presented here intends to provide the theoretical framework of reference of the training device designed.
