The category of merit is one of the dominant ones in the field of education today. Beyond some characteristics of equal opportunities, it hides elements of contradictions as it is interpreted by the current economic model. In particular, the theory of human capital - of neoliberal inspiration - can make it an element of discrimination rather than democracy. A school of merit, therefore, for everyone?
