Towards a pedagogy of childhood 0-6. Community of practice for an integrated training system of teachers and educators

Abstract

Early childhood pedagogy has a relatively recent history, even in recent years we have witnessed a more marked awareness of the role that 0-6 services play in the growth of boys and girls. Legislative Decree no. 65/2017 and the National Teaching Staff Training Plan provided for by paragraph 124 of the art. 1 of Law 107/2015, focus on greater attention and valorization of joint training between educators and teachers. It becomes an opportunity and a fundamental tool for the implementation of the integrated system for education and instruction for 0–6-year-olds. In this regulatory framework, the training plan adopted by the Municipality of Rome Capital starts precisely from the awareness of the importance of the role that 0-6 services play for the growth of boys and girls and for their prospects. It aims to support the precious work that these professional figures carry out every day by providing them with additional tools, skills and spaces for discussion; these are aimed at allowing us to face the challenge of conceiving nurseries and preschools as the most precious allies in the construction of a more equitable and supportive society, capable of valorizing the differences and identity of each person and of ensure better opportunities for all.
