The Theatre of the Oppressed in the ELE classroom: a possible didactic inclusive resource.
Main Article Content
Abstract
Abstract: Theatre in ELE classrooms is a resource that can be used with different didactic objectives (improving pronunciation and self-esteem, among others). In particular, Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed is an artistic tool that not only generates games and entertainment, but also creates theatrical stories that manage to cultivate social awareness in a didactic way for students and that provides teachings applicable in society. At the IES Conselleria Secondary School in València, a theatre workshop has been carried out which has accompanied the ELE language classes for two months. In this paper, we present some concrete examples and some theatrical dynamics carried out. The aim of the work is to present some useful and effective teaching resources for teachers.
