Rethinking orientation through Human Library. Story of an experience
Main Article Content
Abstract
The contribution reports on an experience of orientation to pedagogical degree courses and educational professions. The narrated events are inspired by the Human Library in which the readers (university and/or upper secondary school students), instead of books, find on the library shelves people (students or former students of pedagogical degree courses) willing to talk about their experience of studying and working in the educational field. Readers, after consulting a catalogue of available books, choose the pages of the living books that most intrigue them and then listen to their story. As in every library, there are rules that define the rights and duties of books and readers. Based on real testimonies, the event breaks down the idea of a transmissive orientation, encourages participation, confrontation, exchange, openness to change, and reduction of false beliefs, resulting in an effective orientation approach.
