“With a hot air balloon in her mind”. Promoting narrating skills in primary schools: a case studies from the history of education.

Abstract
Educating pupils for improving their narrating skills became a pivotal challenge as the most recent research carried out by the Darwinist Literary Theory and the Cognitive Literary Theory point out the relevance narrating skills gained for everyday life. The paper aims at highlighting how Italian Indicazioni Nazionali per il primo ciclo have been dealt with the topic; furthermore, it concentrates on Mario Lodi’s teaching methods. Even though they were not explicitly designed for developing narrating skills, Lodi’s teaching methods promoted it among his pupils, as the paper is going to demonstrate.
