"Salutogenesis" as the right to "learn and create health"
Main Article Content
Abstract
Health is a fundamental human right. The hu-man rights approach is a new perspective in health promotion because it is related to equi-ty, inequalities and global health. In this paper a pedagogical interpretation of health promo-tion, empowerment and salutogenesis will be presented. Following this perspective, health promotion actions for human rights should de-velop both a salutogenic model and an empo-werment approach in project plan implementa-tion. Salutogenesis is the process of creating health, wellbeing and quality of life. In this pro-cess social determinants and personal resour-ces are crucial in people’s experience to learn how to cope life events. This final statement suggests and supports the vision of salutoge-nesis as a learning process, a lifelong learning for creating health and affirming the right to health.
