The Housing First of the "Casa Solidale - Giovani" project of Caritas Verona for young homeless Neet

Abstract

Homeless Neets are a steadily growing phenomenon. It is composed by young people whose existence not only is characterized by the absence of a safe and stable working perspective and educational path, but also by a lack of a housing dimension and a formal and community net, which can support their tragic social exclusion. This dimension of youth disadvantage is a grey area of sociological and pedagogical reflection, which often eludes considerations and inter-ventions in youth policy and adult disadvantage’s area, because it does ranges between them. Caritas Verona, by its project “Casa Solidale - Giovani”, offers supporting actions for homeless young Neet according to Housing First model to facilitate their evolutionary pro-cess towards a condition of autonomy.
