Abstract

The aim of the paper is to explore some aspects of action-research as an answer to emerging challenges in diverse learning environments, with special reference to in- service teacher training. After having shortly presented some aspects of current pedagogical-intercultural research in the field of in-service training of teachers who work in culturally and socially heterogeneous schools, the paper will explore reasons for which action- research approaches could be seen as a way in which university social responsibility can be expressed.
