Abstract

Aim of this essay is to demonstrate the necessity of the inclusion of Andragogy, given its absence, within the current Italian teacher-qualification courses scenario. Preliminary, it will be identified the importance of recognizing the pivotal role of education, alongside disciplinary teaching, for allowing school systems to pursue their ideal outcomes. More specifically, will be pointed out how Andragogy can implement teacher’s global competences. Therefore, there will be presented some teacher professional profile models rooted in Adult Education theoretical contribution. Eventually, it will be shown how the latter, preserving the attention to the adult’s learning needs and processes.
