Abstract

In Italy, the Zooprophylactic Institutes are centers of excellence in the field of surveillance plans and diagnostics for animal diseases, they pursue public health objectives by carrying out control and surveillance activities, scientific research, and specialized services in the areas of animal health, food safety risks, and zoonoses. At the same time, they are also important centers for continuous education in veterinary medicine. In this contribution, we will specifically describe the best practices of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe) located in Legnaro (Padua) as an example of the effective and efficient use of educational technology vs information technology in the field of professional training.
